Clean-up Set Part I

Images from the biggest West Coast swell in two years

Mother Nature is finally getting moody again. It’s been a while since she’s shown us her true fiery potential, so long that we were beginning to wonder if those days at Sandspit and third-reef Maverick’s were figments of our imagination. But on Tuesday, December 4 and Wednesday, December 5, she slapped us back to reality with a big, ugly direct hit from the west. Just to make it even more interesting, she threw in some pea-soup fog, short interval lump, stiff southeast winds in some areas and the occasional rogue set that topped the charts at a few spots. It feels good to be pummeled again. On that note, here are some highlights from the swell that put us in our place again.
