FINALISTS TO BATTLE IT OUT TOMORROW IN OAKLEY PRO JUNIOR

SAN CLEMENTE, Calif., Sept. 22, 2007 – The Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) Grade-2 Oakley Pro Junior will see finalists Cory Arrambide (Ventura, CA), Adam Wickwire (Satellite Beach, FL), Nick Rozsa (Oxnard, CA) and Sebastian Zietz (HI) battle it out for the 2007 title tomorrow, following a hard fought Semifinals round in one-to-three foot surf at 56th Street today.

The second-to-last event on the 2007 ASP North America Pro Junior Series, the Oakley Pro Junior plays a critical role in determining the qualifiers for January’s Billabong ASP World Junior Championships.

Adam Wickwire (Satellite Beach, FL), current number four on the ASP North America Pro Junior Series, survived a hard-fought Semifinal heat this morning, putting himself in excellent position for a result at the ASP Grade-2 Oakley Pro Junior.

“That was a bit too close for comfort,” Wickwire said. “I’m stoked I got through the heat. I came here focusing on the Pro Junior and I had the goal of making the Semifinals. Now that I’m into the Finals, this is going to be a good result for me and it’s been a good trip for me.”

The four prodigious youngsters will battle it out for supremacy tomorrow with the Oakley Pro Junior Finals commencing at 1 p.m.

Without current ASP North America frontrunners Eric Geiselman (New Smyrna Beach, FL) and Chris Waring (Seal Beach, CA), tomorrow’s finals could see some major shifting in the ratings before the season ending event in Santa Cruz next October.

Wavewatch, official forecasters for the Oakley Newport Beach Pro presented by Jeep, have called for the South swell to fill in overnight with possible windy conditions early in the weekend, cleaning up later on.
