The Nike 6.0 Lower's Pro in conjunction with the Oakley Pro Junior is a
4-Star ASP WQS / Grade 2 Pro Junior event that boasts a field of 224 international professional surfers who will compete for a part of the $90,000 prize purse, ASP ratings points, and standing in the Macy's California Trifecta Surf Series.

Enticed by the opportunity to surf perfect Lower Trestles--one of the most high-performance wave on the Southern California coast--with only three other surfers out, the Nike 6.0 Lower's Pro is a must on the calendars of some of the world's best surfers in both the WQS and Junior divisions. Lower's is one of the few singular events on the ASP World Qualifying Series schedule that has played a critical role in defining the path that future greats would walk down. Jeff Booth, Kelly Slater, Andy Irons, Shane Beschen, all have hoisted the trophy. Last year, 2001 World Champion CJ Hobgood (USA) and Brent Dorrington (AUS) added their names to the legacy. With performance barriers falling all around us, 2008 promises to be another unforgettable year.

A victory at Lower's will set the pace for the Macy's CA Trifecta Surf Series. Now in it's fourth year, the Series will offer the elusive $33,333 to the WQS competitor placing first in all three events, or give a Trifecta points bonus of $15,000 in cash, to the top three WQS competitors in the ratings if no single surfer wins all three events. The 2008 series will also include a $10,000 points bonus to be given to the top three Oakley Pro Junior competitors. For more info on prizing click here.
