Oakley Newport Beach Pro

The Oakley Newport Pro presented by Jeep in conjunction with the Oakley Pro Junior is a 2-Star ASP WQS / Grade 2 Pro Junior / Amateur event that boasts a field of 352 international professional surfers and amateurs who will compete for a part of the $35,000 prize purse, ASP ratings points and standing in the Macy’s California Trifecta Surf Series presented by Jeep.

Lured by the attraction of surfing one of the best waves in California, and by the prestige that comes with a solid performance in the US surf industry’s backyard, an elite field of competition will compete in both the WQS and Pro Junior divisions. Known for its heated competition and excellent conditions, the Oakley Newport Beach Pro Presented by Jeep has a storied and venerated history.

The Macy’s California Trifecta Surf Series presented by Jeep, is the first series of its kind on the west coast and unites three Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) North American events held at California’s premier competition venues; the Jeep-Body Glove Surfbout, the Oakley Newport Pro presented by Jeep and the O’Neill Cold Water Classic presented by Jeep, held in conjunction with the Oakley Pro Junior series. California is currently the hub of an evolving revitalization of mainland competitive surfing. At the epicenter of this movement is the 2007 Macy’s CA Trifecta Surf Series presented by Jeep, which boasts a cumulative prize purse of over $200,000.
