The Oakley NB Pro presented by Jeep in conjunction with the Oakley Pro Junior is a classic southern California event that for the past 19-years has brought together some of surfing’s brightest stars. Held at Newport’s renowned 54th-56th Street beach-break, the Newport Pro has a draw for every level of surf enthusiast by offering both international men’s pro, junior pro and amateur divisions for men and women. All are invited, and while there is a professional aspect, the Oakley NB Pro remains focused on its commitment to the local surfer. So whether you’d like to compete or just hang out, join us, and enjoy some amazing surfing and a few classic September days on the beach. And if you can’t make it to the beach watch it LIVE.

MACY’S CALIFORNIA TRIFECTA SURF SERIES PRESENTED BY JEEP:

With its long running history, the Newport Pro has always been an important part of California pro surfing. The event has built further on that pedigree by becoming the pivotal second stop in the Macy’s California Trifecta Surf Series presented by Jeep. The Trifecta, which unites the Jeep Body Glove Surfbout the Oakley NB Pro presented by Jeep and the O’Neill Cold Water Classic presented by Jeep under a common banner, offers a $33,333 prize purse to any professional male surfer who manages to place first in all three events a $10,000 cash prize to the overall points-winner and all new Jeep Patriot, $3,500 for second, and $1,500 to third if no single surfer wins all three contests. MEN’S ASP NORTH AMERICA WQS 2 STAR:

A field of 160 pros will compete for positioning in the Macy’s California Trifecta Surf Series presented by Jeep, a part of the $25,000 cash prize and local bragging rights for the next year. Men’s competition starts at 7:30 am Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007.

JUNIOR PRO GRADE 2:

The Oakley Pro Junior, is a Grade-2 ASP event pitting an elite field of 48 top junior professionals against each other in a competition that will provide with valuable points towards the year end Macy’s Trifecta point rating, a portion of the $10,000 prize purse, and qualifying points toward the coveted Billabong World Junior Champion Championships in March 2008. The 19TH Annual Newport Beach Surf Championships will include a field of 144 male and female amateur recreational divisions competing for $5,000 in prize product.
