Nathan Yeoman
Age: 25
From: San Clemente, California
Surfs: Goofy
In 2005, if Nate had made one more heat in the Cold Water Classic, he would’ve bumped Asher Nolan down to second and taken the Macy’s Trifecta Points Title himself. Still smarting from that loss, Yeoman’s 2006 campaign ended victoriously, with a win over Nathaniel Curran in the Point’s Race during his last wave of the contest in Sanata Cruz. With $10,000 in the bank from his win last year, Yeoman’s will enter 2007 in search of a repeat, but with the likes of Nathaniel Curran, Dustin Cuizon, and former Macy’s Points winner Asher Nolan nipping at his heels, he’ll certainly have his work cut out for him.

Nathaniel Curran
Age: 22
From: Oxnard, California
Surfs: Regular
For the past two years, Nathaniel Curran has been in the running for the Macy’s California Trifecta Surf Series Points Title. Last year, he finished behind Points winner Nate Yeomans—but just barely. Coming into 2007, the explosive youth from Oxnard could prove to be a Trifecta contender yet again, and this time, he might not settle for second place.

Dustin Cuizon
Age: 23
From: Waipahu, Hawaii
Surfs: Regular
In 2006, Dustin opened his Trifecta run with a win at the Body Glove Surfbout and then followed that up with a finals appearance in Newport. Knocked out early in Santa Cruz, however, Cuizon’s Point’s Title hopes came to an end. But don’t be surprised if makes another push this year. Cuizon came close once already, and he easily has the talent to finish what he started.

Alex Gray
Age: 21
From: Palos Verdes, California
Surfs: Regular
Alex spent a good deal of effort competing in both the WQS and Junior elements of the Trifecta’s tour last year. But in 2007, he’ll be focusing exclusively on the WQS. Now, with only one contest to worry about at a time, Gray’s standing’s could surge. With a 4th place finish in the Point’s Race last year, he won’t have to improve much to lay claim to the Trifecta crown.

Asher Nolan
Age: 27
From: Neptune Beach, Florida
Surfs: Goofy
Asher Nolan had a hallmark year in 2005. Not only did he win several ‘QS events across the country, he also came to California and competed with the consistency that’s necessary to win a Macy’s California Trifecta Surf Series Title. With the momentum he generated as fuel, Asher returned to California in 2006 and finished in 7th place in the Trifecta Points Race. This year, look for Nolan to make anther strong showing on the Trifecta surf circuit.

Dane Reynolds
Age: 21
From: Ventura, California
Surfs: Regular
Dane’s focusing his efforts on competition and the WQS this year, and part of his path will run through California. With his sites set on the WCT, Dane has enough talent to make anything happen. Last year, he finished the Trifecta season in 8th in the Point’s Race. This year, with his mind on success in California and beyond, it’s likely he’ll improve on that result.
